Rigging analysis is a close, visual inspection of chain plates, turnbuckles, swivels, wire and wire ends to find any evidence of cracks, broken wires, or corrosion of the standing rigging from deck level. Masts, booms, and all fittings are inspected, as are all sails, their handling gear and running rigging. If any problems are evident, such as those listed above, then a thorough rigging survey by a Certified Rigging Surveyor will be recommended. A complete survey by a certified rigging surveyor includes going aloft, and is an in-depth inspection and analysis that is necessary when rigging questions surface, or to expand the scope of a pre-purchase survey.
