The focus is on the engine and propulsion system. It includes, but not limited to, a visual and physical inspection of all hoses, clamps, bolts, gaskets, and running temperatures of all components. This survey also includes the electrical output of starter, alternator, and batteries, with engine and transmission oil analysis, and infrared temperature readings of exhaust components, coolant system and engine room. Deficiencies and recommendations are detailed. This analysis will include transmissions, shafts, and logs. This is not a substitute for a complete engine survey by a factory trained engine surveyor or the engine dealer. This is a preliminary in-depth inspection when problems occur or to expand a pre-purchase survey and at reduced costs. Note: A complete engine survey includes compression tests, distributor and injector tests, and computer analysis. We can recommend and provide the proper qualified mechanic for each brand of engine, to do such a survey if requested.
